Jess

Jess graduated from the University of Southampton in 2007 with BSc (honours) in Physiotherapy. This gave her an excellent grounding to what has so far been a very rewarding career. Since then she has worked in the NHS, private and sports sectors across the whole spectrum of physiotherapy. She has been fortunate to have worked in large, acute hospitals as well as small, community hospitals within the local area and she thoroughly enjoys being part of the local community.

Since 2010, Jess has specialised in musculoskeletal disorders and enjoys the challenges that this creates. Jess has recently attended the Running Repairs course and is keen to put these skills into use with the runners and sporting individuals that she works with. Jess has always been fascinated by how the whole body is interconnected and tries her best to incorporate this into her work by believing that every patient is an individual and injuries impact the whole body.

Jess is Kids Back 2 Sport practitioner and has done advanced training in sporting adolescents, helping active children return to doing the things they love. She has worked with young sports professionals and multiple football teams and gymnastics squads. Jess believes it is essential to not treat adolescents as “mini adults” but the growing developing human being that they are.

Jess is also qualified in acupuncture, being with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) registered and sees this as a very useful adjunct to physiotherapy.
